NEET UG is the gateway to every MBBS seat in India. With 24 lakh+ students competing and less than 1 lakh MBBS government seats available, the quality of your resources matters enormously. The right books and platforms for NEET are different from JEE: Biology carries 50% of the paper, and NCERT is king.

Best Books for NEET Biology (Most Important Subject)

Biology accounts for 360 out of 720 marks in NEET. More than 90% of Biology questions come directly from NCERT. There is no shortcut: read NCERT Biology (both volumes) at least 5 times cover to cover.

  • NCERT Biology Class 11 & 12: The absolute foundation. Read every line, every diagram caption, every example.
  • Trueman's Elementary Biology (K.N. Bhatia & M.P. Tyagi): The best supplementary resource for deeper understanding of NCERT concepts.
  • MTG Objective Biology: Excellent question bank with chapter-wise MCQs aligned to NEET pattern.
  • NCERT Exemplar Biology: Higher-order questions based on NCERT content. Excellent for score improvement.

Best Books for NEET Physics

NEET Physics (180 marks) is generally considered the most challenging section for medical aspirants. The questions test conceptual application rather than rote learning.

  • NCERT Physics Class 11 & 12: Start and end here. Build all concepts from NCERT first.
  • H.C. Verma | Concepts of Physics (selected chapters): Use for Mechanics, Waves, and Electrostatics. Avoid overcomplicating with advanced problems.
  • D.C. Pandey | NEET Physics (Arihant): Specifically calibrated for NEET. Better than using the full engineering-level version.
  • MTG 33 Years NEET Chapterwise Physics: Solve all previous year Physics questions organised by chapter.

Best Books for NEET Chemistry

  • NCERT Chemistry Class 11 & 12: Inorganic Chemistry is almost entirely from NCERT. Physical and Organic also heavily NCERT-based.
  • O.P. Tandon | Physical Chemistry (G.R. Bathla Publications): Best for Physical Chemistry numericals.
  • Organic Chemistry by Morrison Boyd (selected chapters): For students who want deeper understanding of mechanisms.
  • MTG Objective Chemistry: Good question bank covering all NEET-relevant topics.

Best YouTube Channels for NEET Free Preparation

  • Vedantu NEET Made Ejee: Strong Biology and Chemistry lectures. Good explanation quality.
  • Physics Wallah NEET: Excellent Physics for NEET at an affordable level. Free content available.
  • Neela Bakore Tutorials: Outstanding Biology lectures with NCERT alignment.
  • Study with Farhan (Biology): Popular channel for NCERT-based Biology revision.
  • @HiteshJEEMentor (YouTube): For NEET aspirants, watch the preparation strategy videos: concepts like time management, consistent study schedules, and avoiding common mistakes apply equally to NEET.

Best Online Platforms for NEET 2026

  • Physics Wallah (PW NEET): Most affordable structured NEET batch. Especially good for Biology and Chemistry.
  • Unacademy NEET: Large faculty pool with live classes and recorded content.
  • Allen NEET Online: The NEET version of Allen's trusted coaching methodology.
  • Aakash BYJU's: Comprehensive material with good test series. Higher price point.
  • Embibe NEET: AI-personalised practice with detailed chapter-wise analytics.

Best Mock Test Series for NEET

  • NTA Official Mock Tests: Free, exact NEET interface. Take at least 10 full tests on the official platform.
  • Allen NEET Test Series: Industry benchmark. Most predictive of final NEET score.
  • Aakash Test Series: Large question bank with detailed performance analytics.
  • MTG NEET Mock Tests (App): Good offline option with instant evaluation.

NEET Study Partner Strategy

NEET Biology can feel like a solo memorisation exercise, but it is not. A peer who explains a biological process: inheritance, plant physiology, ecology: to you will help you retain it far longer than you would by reading alone. Find a peer who is strong in Biology on Peerzy if it is your weak subject.

NEET Revision Strategy That Works

  1. Read NCERT Biology 3 times in the first pass (Month 1–2). Then MTG questions. Then NCERT again.
  2. Physics: Complete one topic from NCERT + D.C. Pandey + previous year questions each week.
  3. Chemistry: Inorganic from NCERT only. Physical from O.P. Tandon + NCERT. Organic from NCERT + Morrison Boyd.
  4. Mock Tests: Full-length 3-hour NEET mock every Sunday from Month 4 onwards.
  5. Peer Session: Weekly 1-hour teach-back with a peer for one Biology chapter per session.
